A downloadable Hazel I

As we prepare the next issue of Hazel, I’ve decided to release back issues of the first and original Hazel zine, written and illustrated entirely by myself, Cottonbook creator Lucy Kagan.

When I moved from verdant Raleigh, North Carolina to the huge grey New York City and lived in someone’s attic in New Jersey, I felt a lot like the young witch in Kiki’s Delivery Service. This zine was created as a way to help young witches feel more connected to each other, knowing we’re out there reading these same words together and feeling these same feelings.

This issue is full of quiet pieces that soothe an anxious and ambitious mind to take a minute to relax and focus on self care through learning about plants, inspiring cooking experiments, and playing with magical guides. Please send this book to the young woman in your life who is striving to make it on her own, whether to college, to a new school or city, or a new job, to remind her that we’re all out here cheering her on.

This listing is for a digital download of the PDF. The hard copies are also available in the shop.
